Sammy is a 3 year old golden-lab mix. We rescued her from a over populated home of goldens/labs a little over a month ago. Sammy is 40lbs full grown. Great with dogs. She was raised as a mainly outdoor dog in a large pack. She is submissive with other dogs and would love another dog/dogs to have a pack with. She has megaesopagus (enlarged esophaguse) and needs to eat slowly by hand with wet food style meat balls twice daily and limited water or she will regurgitate. She is not a fan of being crated indoors (loves crate with door open as a safe place) or people being gone long hours. She is housebroken once she gets the schedule down but can have occasional accidents if stressed. She is very dog oriented but is shy with humans until she bonds which can take 30-60 days! She has a wonderful, loving, laid back personality! Anyone up to adopt a semi special needs golden retriever mix? sammy is heartworm pos and currently on the “slow kill” method of treating heartworms.
