Poppy is a rat terrier/Chihuahua  mix and weighs 16 pounds. She is approximately 6 years old. She was part of the group of dogs that were surrendered in a recent hoarding case. Because she spent her life outside without any type of prevention, she is heartworm positive. She is currently undergoing treatment and if adopted, her adopter would need to give her medication 2 times a day and if needed, make sure she gets to her vet appointments. Animal Advocates would be responsible for the cost of her treatments until she is cleared of heartworms.
That is the sad part of her story, but let me tell you about this amazing girl. She is silly and playful and loves attention. She is a big goof and continues to make her foster mom smile. She has a fun personality and will be a great addition to any family. She seems to get along with other dogs and has been friendly with children. She is working on housebreaking and although doing well with going outside, she has to be put out regularly until she learns. Her tongue hangs out the front of her mouth because she is missing teeth, but this just adds to her cuteness. Please think about giving this neglected, beautiful pup some consideration. She deserves so much more than what she has been through. If interested in Poppy,
