Sam is a sweet loving boy who came from a terrible situation. His owner went into the hospital and when it was discovered she had animals someone went out to feed them and discovered the house was basically condemned. The animals were living in filth and a severe overpopulation problem due to unspayed and neutered dogs. Sam along with several other dogs (including his mom, dad and brothers) were all rescued and he was waiting for a foster to open up in a rescue so he could find his furever home. He made his way down to us in Central Florida from rural Georgia and is now being spoiled and loved in his foster home while he waits for his furever home. This is what his foster had to say about him: If you’re looking for a cute, playful, loving, cuddly pup, look no further! I am a 2 year old, 35lb hound mix! I love people, dogs and kids. I have never been around cats but I think I would get along great with them. I enjoy playing as much as I love cuddling, it’s the perfect mix of fun energy and calmness. I am house trained and have never needed a kennel so I am not sure how I would like them, but I am good boy and do not chew on anything except my toys, so I think I would prefer to just sleep on my bed when I’m alone. I have been experiencing a lot of new things lately and that can be kind of scary at first but I always warm up quickly! My foster family has been slowly exposing me to new things, they are very patient when I might be a little timid at first, but I am no longer scared of motorcycles and now I know I am fine with fireworks and storms. I am still trying to figure out this leash thing but I think with a harness and some practice I will be great at it. I love food and am very food motivated. Now that I see people give the best treats, I am learning tricks quickly, and already know how to sit and to come when I’ve been called! Everyday I am with my foster family I become a happier more confident pup and am ready to play and cuddle with my new family! More about SamGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
