Hazel was recscued from Orange County Animal Services. She orginally came in to the shelter in Dec. injured and was adopted out to someone who was going to take care of her. Well she was returned back not a month later because they could not afford her medical care. We where asked to help little Hazel and when a foster mom stepped up we where able to pull her. Hazel is a tiny pocket pit/terrier mix at only 31lbs full grown. She has a sweet outgoing loving personality which made her stand out as a staff favorite.

Hazel came to us with a healing rear leg fracture (which has been healing without medical interventions for over a month). The vet assessed that since it is almost healed there is nothing to be done about the limp she has on the rear leg. She will limp for her lifetime due to the injury. Her from leg has a fracture at the elbow along with another old fracture to the joint. She does use the leg to walk sometimes but it is healing well and there is no need to do further medical interventions. She is continuing to heal and will always walk with a limp, hop sometimes on her limbs but in the long run should be like any dog (in old age arthritis is sure to come quicker than most dogs). She needs a special home that will love her dispite her disabilities!
