Izabell was rescued from an owner who became homeless. This beautiful purebreed GSD is a georgous big girl. She grew up in a home with several other dogs of varying sizes. Her previous owner stated she was not good with cats because she was fearful of them. Izabella just transitioned into a foster home and had a full medical work up and spay this week (begining of october 2018) This is what her foster had to say:

"Izabell is a very sweet, very large 1.5-2 year old German Shepard. She came into my posession a frightened dog, having just lost her first family, being dropped off at the vet for surgery and being brought to a strange house, with strange people and a strange dog. In only 2 days, she acclimated well. She began to calm down. She is your shadow, and will follow you from room to room... and if you move while she's sleeping, she will frantically look for you until you are located. In our home we have 3 and 5 year old boys and a 2 year old chocolate lab. Izabell and our dog Brisby play for at least an hour a day. Their play sounds ferocious, and there is a lot of teeth shown as they open their mouths and wrestle. My dog will usually tell Izabell when she's done, and Izabell stops.

She is EXTREMELY smart, but her previous owners taught her little to no tricks, so you will be starting from scratch. She is highly motivated though, so it should be pretty easy to fix.

She is a counter surfer. I have trained her to lay somewhere other than the dinner table while we eat. Took about 2-3 minutes to train her to stay out of the dining area. She is so tall that anything that is out on the counter (food) is fair game. Like most dogs, she won't typically grab stuff if you are home, but if you aren't... it's fair game.

She is generally good if you leave the house and leave her out of the crate, but like mentioned above, she will grab anything off the counter. She hasn't destroyed anything in our home while she's been out and we weren't home. This morning we left her out while taking the 3 year old to daycare and the 5 year old to kindergarten, I returned to see the banana bread out of the bag, on the floor. I knew it was Izabell, because my dog has never taken anything off the counter. She gave me the worst “Damn, I got caught” look.

Izabell is very curious, but will bark. It is a loud deep bark that usually causes people to cross the street on our walks. I swear, there isn't a malicious bone in her body. She could EASILY overpower me, but always submits.

She is getting better on walks and LOVE going on them. If she hears me grab my keys, she is already at the door. She does pull and because she is so strong, she wears a prong collar. She will bark at people, but is getting better, because I correct her. Yesterday, though, she did bark at a big bad pile of grass clippings by the curb.

She is housebroken, but has messed inside a few times, but usually if she hasn't been let out in the last 4 hours.

She is good with my kids, even though she is bigger than either one of them. My 3 year old is a little intimidated due to her size.

She has “mouthed” us to get attention. Usually our hand, but once you correct her she will stop.

In the beginning she was though to be an escape artist, but that is only with unlatched doors that she can push outward.

She is learning what toys are. When she got here she wouldn't play with anything.

She is a great dog and she's just waiting for the right family to choose her."
