Online Adoption Application

Onyx is a very pretty (well handsome) and petite one year old miniature Schnauzer Poodle  mix that was given to us by his owner who was very down on his luck.  He is very calm and sweet, not bouncy like you might expect a one year old youngster.  He really loves company but is not demanding, just so happy to sit on my lap or look at his foster mom while she is in the home office.  He is not loud and barely barks, and only whimpers a little when he goes to his area for bedtime.  He loves his short walks around the neighborhood and always wants to visit with any dogs he sees, so the foster mom feels confident he would do great as company to a calm buddy, but in any case, he absolutely loves his people.  He does not jump up but instead walks right next to you and is just so trusting.  He seems to be well housetrained, and the foster mom is home all day so is making sure he gets out a lot to do his business. 

When he was brought to us he was living with a Pomeranian, so we know he is used to like-sized company and seems to  love company in any form.  He also was greatly in need of a groom as his owner could not afford any of those extra's a poodle mix would need. We of course we got him right to the vet and "spa" where he received a clean bill of health, was neutered, received all his shots and heartworm test (negative) and last but not least got a cute puppy cut, where our great groomer Lisa, shaved off the mats and made him super comfortable for summer.  Please note his before and after pictures so you can see the poodle like fur and know that he is a medium to long haired pup.

We are hoping for a home where he can take short walks, (not a great jogging buddy)...and will not get stepped on or dropped as he really is a petite calm guy.
